Frequently asked questions

How do I convert binary to decimal?

Choose binary as the base and type the number. 1010 in binary is 10 in decimal. Each position is a power of two, starting from the right.

What is hexadecimal?

Base 16, which uses the digits 0 to 9 and the letters A to F. It is common for colors and memory addresses, because two hex digits describe exactly one byte.

Can it handle very large numbers?

Yes. The tool uses exact whole number arithmetic, so there is no rounding, however long the number is.

Are decimals and fractions supported?

No, only whole numbers, which can be negative.
