Which regex flavour does it use?
JavaScript, the same engine your browser uses. It is close to other flavours, but features like lookbehind or named groups can differ per language.
What do the flags mean?
g finds all matches instead of the first, i ignores upper and lower case, m lets ^ and $ match at each line, s lets the dot match a new line, and u turns on full unicode support.
Why does my pattern show an error?
Usually a bracket is not closed or a special character needs a backslash. The message shows what the browser says is wrong.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The pattern runs in your browser, so it is safe for logs and private text.
