Does it replace every match?
Yes, all matches in the text. The tool shows how many replacements it made.
What does 'Whole words only' do?
It skips matches that are part of a longer word. Replacing 'cat' then leaves 'category' as it is.
How do I use regular expressions?
Tick 'Regular expression'. You can then use patterns like \d+ for numbers, and $1 in the replacement to reuse part of a match.
