How to Make a QR Code for Your Business Card (With Your Logo)
Updated October 2026
A QR code on your business card saves people from typing your details. When they scan it, their phone offers to save you as a contact, with your name, number, email and address already filled in. This guide shows how to make one, add your logo and print it so it scans.
Make the code in four steps
- Open the business card QR code generator.
- Fill in your name, company, phone, email, website and address. Leave out what you do not need.
- Choose your logo and the colors.
- Download the code as PNG or SVG.
Contact details or just a link?
A contact code (vCard) stores the details inside the code itself. It works without internet and nobody has to open a website. The downside is that you cannot change the details later. If your phone number changes, you need a new code and new cards.
A link to your own website or profile can be updated at any time, but it needs internet and one more tap. If your details change often, make a code that links to a page that you control.
Adding your logo
A logo in the middle makes the code look like part of your brand. The code is built with the highest level of error correction, which repairs up to about 30% of damage. That is why a small or medium logo still scans.
- Use a simple logo with a transparent or white background, PNG or SVG.
- Choose small or medium for the logo size.
- The more details you add to the card, the smaller the squares get, so keep the logo small for a full card.
Colors and size that scan well
| Choice | Works well | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Code color | Black, dark blue, dark green | Light colors, yellow, pale grey |
| Background | White or a very light color | Dark backgrounds, patterns, photos |
| Size on the card | At least 2 x 2 cm (0.8 inch) | Smaller than 1.5 cm |
| Border | A clear empty margin around the code | Text or edges touching the code |
Test before you print
- Scan the code on your screen with your own phone and check that all details are correct.
- Print one test card, on the paper you will use, and scan that too.
- Try an iPhone and an Android phone if you can. Both read contact codes with the normal camera.
- If it does not scan, remove some details or make the code bigger.
Privacy
The code and your logo are made in your browser. Your contact details are not uploaded or stored by this site. Remember that anyone who has your card can scan it, so only include what you are happy to share.
