Frequently asked questions

Are spaces and line breaks counted?

The first number counts everything, including spaces and line breaks. 'Without spaces' leaves out spaces, tabs and line breaks.

How are emoji counted?

Each emoji or special character is counted once by this tool. Some platforms count them differently, for example as two characters, so keep a small margin.

Are the preset limits always right?

They are common limits and platforms change them. Search engines also cut titles and descriptions by pixel width, not by character count, so treat 60 and 160 as a guide.

Is my text stored?

No. Everything is counted in your browser and is gone when you close or reload the page.
